New Design

Let’s face it – it was high time to rethink the standard “spider-style” shockmount of yore. It was decided by Vanguard Audio Labs to give an open front to the VLSM, which allows you to position your microphone as close to the source as possible while preventing early reflections from the front 120-degrees.

The Vanguard VLSM was also designed to get rid of the aggravating experiences with the flimsy elastic bands that come standard with most shock mounts. They get stretched out and sag, and sometimes snap without warning – not something you want to happen when your mic is in there!

The Only Mount You’ll Need

Instead, aerospace grade rubberised suspension rings were installed that are extremely sturdy and won’t break, sag, crack, or stretch over time. Vanguard Audio Labs picked a precise durometer for the suspension rings that will firmly support even the heaviest of microphones, while still maintaining superb decoupling properties to prevent unwanted rumble and vibration for superlative clarity in your recordings.

The Vanguard VLSM comes as a standard accessory for the Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser and V44S Stereo Condenser microphones. However, it utilizes a standard M22x1 ISO Metric threading. The VLSM should be compatible for up to 68mm (2.68″) diameter microphones with M22 threading at their base.
