Merging Hapi MKII front panel monitor close up.

Design

Hapi MkII is both the perfect primary interface for smaller setups as well as the ultimate accessory for a system running multiple Horus, Hapi and Anubis.

MERGING+HAPI has been a hugely popular networked audio converter and instrumental in introducing so many to the exciting world of RAVENNA/AES67 audio over IP connectivity. It’s 1U form factor makes it the ideal local stage-box or studio rack unit for any application.

Now is the time to build on that success with new technology and new features that still allow all the existing AD and DA, MADI and Pro Tools PT64 interface cards to be compatible from the original Hapi and Horus.

Hapi MkII utilizes the ZMAN DSP processor technology introduced in Anubis. This powerful processor allows some very meaningful performance upgrades. The recent introduction of the ADA8S and ADA8P cards improved the headroom of the mic-pre inputs and effectively doubled the analogue I/O count to 16 in/16 out in DSD/DXD, all in a 1U rack mountable box.

Stagebox or Portable Use

The MkII is perfect for portable setups where a small number of analogue I/O is needed. Managing suspended mics in a concert hall, receiving incoming streams from a remote broadcast truck or an overdub drum session, Hapi’s compact form factor makes it easy to travel with.

Mac or PC, users now have access to one of the most sonically impressive mic preamps and AD/DA interfaces the audio industry has ever seen. Using dedicated ASIO and Core Audio drivers, whatever software you run you are able to use Hapi as your I/O solution.

The PT64 option card provides 64 channels of low latency Pro Tools HD connectivity and allows Pro Tools ultimate users to take advantage of AoIP with ethernet connectivity. The MkII can also use one of its slots to add a single or multi mode MADI option card, providing 64 discrete channels of digital input and output at 1FS.

Broadcast Standards Compliance

Merging has kept abreast of AoIP developments by participating in international showcases and standardisation events. It is no surprise that Hapi MkII complies with the key broadcast requirements for network redundancy and discovery.

  • ST2110
  • ST2022-7
  • NMOS

Total remote control

The MkII is fully remote controllable with any web browser on your MAC or PC to access all parameters and remote-control mic pre amps.

Synchronise your Network

The MkII can be synchronized to video input (black burst or trilevel HD), word clock, network (PTP), AES-EBU, ADAT, SPDIF, MADI or internal clock. It can also serve as an AoIP grandmaster (PTP).

RAVENNA and AES67

Using RAVENNA/AES67 audio over IP, the MkII is able to provide flexible connectivity of every single input and output across standard networks, using off-the-shelf network equipment. The future is most definitely networked audio, and Hapi provides it today.

Analogue Option cards

Four separate high quality analogue input and output cards can be fitted to the base unit in blocks of 8 channels to customise your interface for different applications. Choose from Standard, 192kHz capable or Premium DXD/DSD capable inputs and outputs to capture every sound with the greatest accuracy and detail.

Both AD cards have a direct out feature allowing the analogue mic/line signal to be taken directly after the mic pre and fed to other analogue devices so can be used as a splitter. Ideal for feeds to monitor desks or secondary recording devices.

The Ultimate Atmos 7.1.4 monitor controller

If Atmos for music or film is your specialty then combine an Anubis and Hapi MkII together to seamlessly control your 7.1.4 monitoring.

Installation AV with Ovation

Match the power of Merging’s multichannel audio and show sequencer with Hapi units placed strategically around the installation to provide the ultimate flexibility in creative AV.
