Spatial Mic Control

The Spatial Mic Control app provides remote manipulation of various hardware parameters on Spatial Mic USB and communicates with the microphone through the same USB cable used to supply power and stream audio data. Spatial Mic Control replicates the hardware controls found on microphone itself and adds additional functionality.

To use the app simply launch Spatial Mic Control when Spatial Mic USB is plugged into an available USB port on your computer (Mac or Windows).

Spatial Mic Converter

The Spatial Mic Converter plugin transforms the raw audio signals from Spatial Mic to first or second order ambisonics, surround sound (up to 7.1.4 ATMOS) or virtual mic patterns including mid-side for mono or stereo output. This is achieved with an internal 64-channel filter matrix and measurements from an anechoic chamber.

Spatial Mic Converter is available as VST3, AAX, and AU, and requires a host that supports multi-channel audio tracks such as Pyramix, Reaper, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Cubase Pro, or Plogue Bidule.

With Spatial Mic Converter, you can change the microphone’s aim at the point in space where the audio was recorded. This is useful when aligning audio position with 360 video, aiming the mic at specific sounds that should be in front of the listener, or used in combination with the virtual mic output stage to focus directional polar patterns at different parts of the soundfield.

Spatial Record App

The Spatial Record App is a user-friendly, multichannel recording tool designed for iOS, macOS and Windows. Use it to effortlessly record multichannel audio files up to 24-bit / 96 kHz from Spatial Mic USB to devices like iPhones, iPads and laptops. Spatial Mic Dante can also be recorded with the help of Dante Virtual Soundcard or other Dante interface. Audio files are saved as multichannel .wav files, which can then be easily imported into your DAW of choice for conversion with the Spatial Mic Converter plugin.

Using the Spatial Record App alongside Spatial Mic USB offers a complete solution for capturing higher-order ambisonics wherever your travels may take you. The app’s intuitive design ensures quick setup, so you don’t miss out on critical recordings. Additionally, Spatial Record features a DSP mode for binaural playback (for files recorded with Spatial Mic), file browser and live monitoring.
