The A226-MAIN is the next logical step in the evolution of the PSI Audio speaker portfolio: a fully realized main studio monitor with uncompromising accuracy. It features a three way with four drivers: the dual 10-inch symmetrical woofers deliver deep, controlled bass with a wide sweet spot and reduced reflections; PSI Audio’s proprietary EXD midrange driver achieves unmatched transient response; and their all-new aluminium coil tweeter provides ultra-detailed highs. Vivid, powerful dynamics and pristine clarity over an extended frequency range provide all the accuracy and precision discerning professionals require to create engaging mixes.

Design and Production Like No Other

The A226-MAIN offers you three ways to your goal; three ways to perfection. And if you need to put your speakers on their sides, the tweeter and midrange driver can be rotated to accommodate your preferences.

Then there is the sound that has earned PSI Audio the respect of audio professionals all around the world. Imagine the musicians, the instruments, the notes themselves coming to life right before your eyes, so vividly that you can almost see them, touch them, smell the wood of the guitar, feel the vibration of that string. The A226-MAIN works very hard to make your work easy – you can just move through the natural sound stage and manipulate its elements, always in full control of what you are doing. Become one with the music through the most accurate monitor speakers on the market.

The A226-MAIN comes with the classic PSI midrange driver. The Extended Dome Driver (EXD) combines dome and cone constructions, effectively offering the best of both worlds in the process.

The driver system is mounted to a rotatable baffle to enable vertical or horizontal speaker placement at optimum dispersion. Combined with proprietary PSI Audio technologies like the Class G/H amplifiers, CPR, AOI and ALG, the EXD in the all-analogue A226-MAIN achieves the most precise sound reproduction possible.

PSI Audio’s EXD midrange driver developed initially for the A25-M combines a 4-inch, latex-and-graphite-infused paper cone membrane with a light polypropylene dome, both of which are directly connected to the voice coil. With the dimensions and weight ratio of coil and membranes optimised in this way, PSI Audio’s EXD offers higher SPL at lower distortion, pushing the new A226-MAIN even closer towards perfect accuracy. To further improve its performance, the new driver is built directly onto the rotatable baffle with no basket at all.
